Update (Nov/13/2009)

A lot of people around the world likes Toledo Chess 1, they even try to compile it using the old Turbo C compiler (circa 1988!), so find now the necessary instructions in the FAQ.

Toledo Nanochess fighted at Olivier Deville's OpenWar 6th edition tournament. Scoring 8.5 points of 91 possible, standing up at position 85, surpassing 6 bigger competitors.
Marshall Brain cites Toledo Nanochess as the World Record #99 of How Stuff Works.
David Bolton put Toledo Nanochess on his C Games Code Library at About.com: C/C++/C#.

Toledo Nanochess now is twelve characters smaller and 50% faster.
The Winboard version now allows time control, so its strength is slightly better.
Now you can play black's pieces on Toledo Javascript Chess.
The FAQ was updated.

I've designed a logo for Toledo Nanochess, it is included on the pack. There exists also two alternate logos created by Dusan Stamenkovic, available through his site Chess Nostalgia.
Source code of Toledo Javascript chess now is more accessible.
Toledo Nanochess had a mention at the news portal Microsiervos.com (in Spanish).

Update (Jun/15/2009)

Toledo Nanochess battled at Olivier Deville's ChessWar XIV tournament, Promo category. The result was 5.0 points of 11 possible, standing up at position 129, ahead of 83 competitors. Also it obtained a score of 1423 ELO points, a good result for a program so small.
